« Comics - Japan / Shonen Jump - 1980-08Manga In the third and last chapter, things get a bit confusing without the help of a translation. X-Bomber's ramming attack on the Alliance battlecruiser has a devastating effect; destroying the cruiser outright, while the debris destroys much of the remainder of the Alliance fleet. Makara, in this manga, exhibits powers like those manifested by the Imperial Master in the TV show; returning as an apparition infront of the X-Bomber crew before flying away. X-Bomber then returns to Moonbase, along with what looks like the vast majority of its astrofighter escort. A different fleet of ships arrives and one elegant spacecraft, carrying Lamia, lands at Moobase. Lamia's home planet appears to exist in a different galaxy. The Alliance have apparently attacked it in the past, possessed much of its population and destroyed a number of the cities, before Professor Hagan arrives. The planet is then shown ruined and Professor Hagan has died in the conflict. Shiro undergoes a change of costume and receives a medieval knight-like armour. X-Bomber sets off once more with Shiro, Hercules, Lee and Ruby onboard; leaving Lamia and Dr Benn on Moonbase. Scanning Remarks This issue was printed in black ink on a pinkish paper. With the ink being black, it was possible to use auto-contrast and auto-brightness more consistently, to make the illustrations stand out much more than they do on the paper. Images
