Manga
The first of the three instalments sets up this interesting 'alternate universe' story ...

As you can see, Star Fleet headquarters has accommodation for civilian families. Professor Hagan lives on Earth, along with Shiro's mother.
Shiro, Hercules and Lee attend school at Star Fleet headquarters.

On p181, some of the people in the school might be controlled by a laser memory dissimilator. Meanwhile, the Alliance has biological operatives; unlike the cybernetic termoids.

On p186, we encounter a variant of the Pluto defender astrofighter that functions as a small, armed transport.
We're also introduced to the attractive and determined new female character; Ruby.

The converted Pluto defender has sufficient combat performance to subdue two other ships, which appear to be similar craft under enemy control.
The ship arrives at Moonbase, where Dr Benn welcomes the four occupants.

Dr Benn hands Shiro a letter, from which, Shiro learns that his father has departed on an exploration vessel and run into trouble with the Alliance.
Professor Hagan's ship looks more capable than the one that we see in the show.
Dr Benn shows Shiro the X-Bomber, at which point Makara's battle group, led by her battlecruiser arrives.

Scanning Remarks
Although there are significantly more pages to scan, the process was a lot easier than scanning the TV-Kun manga.
The book isn't in pristine condition but the paper was a lot thicker and the ink had faded a lot less.
Using the auto-colour adjustment in Photoshop helped with the TV-Kun scans to bring back some of the contrast, so I used it here as well, which had the effect of making the paper look quite white, when in fact 41 years made it fairly yellow.
