Re: A couple of random finds
Have we seen this before? It looks like a Japanese jigsaw judging by the text...

Nice image,
They pop-up on Rinkya from-time-to-time but the Rinkya fees, commissions and delivery charges really add-up so I only order on there stuff that I really want.
Say, Andy, I finished watching the Terrahawks blu rays and I wondered if you'd seen any of it.
That show hasn't really aged gracefully; about as well as Zelda, actually.

Re: A couple of random finds
*blows dust off site*
Why, yes, I am indeed familiar with Terrahawks - in fact there's a page on the site I nearly forgot about before I started typing this:
http://www.sfxb.co.uk/animated/terrahawks.html
I haven't sat and watched any of it since then which was a very, very long time ago it has to be said. As you say, Zelda does tend to put you off your food. It still amazes me that we used to be allowed to watch some of this stuff growing up compared to what they get now! I did like it though, and some of the toys were die cast so they lasted a while but I don't have any left in my possession these days.
By the by, if anyone hasn't supported my little Lego endeavour yet please do, I need to hit 100 in a month's time for more time and I need to try and keep my support creeping up by just over one a day as things stand! Share about the place! Thanks!

Re: A couple of random finds
That model's a great one.
We've seen some similar ones but never that one. The same-scale Dai-X fighters are super.
Added all the images to my collection:
http://xbomber.co.uk/?dir=Star%20Fleet/ ... 20Williams
I remembered that you had a Terrahawks page on SFXB.
I'm interested in peoples' reactions to seeing the blurays decades down the line.
I went back and watched Thunderbirds' The Uninvited on bluray afterwards and I found that more easy to digest.
With Terrahawks, there were some good bits but it got taken over ever-more with really cringeworthy bits.
For me, one problem was the appearance of the rubber puppets and how closely they were filmed.
Looking at the special features, it really became apparent how shoestring the budget was for Terrahawks at the time.
I think the merchandising through Bandai was done as a formality for finance purposes whereas in Captain Scarlet, the dinky models from 1965 were really inspired.

Re: A couple of random finds
So this one ... he beats.
It does very very very badly. Details pushed, aging paint thrust, integration of the big dai itself patinated.
For a brand new ship, the x-bomber was really worn out
But then why this mania of painting it in red instead of brown, x bomber it is go nagai, and not georges lucas (even if it is the basis of inspiration)
I say this with a touch of nervousness.
Magnificent.

Re: A couple of random finds
The red is certainly striking but not necessarily authentic but it does put a new spin on it.
I attributed X-Bomber's slightly bedraggled appearance to the fact that (at least in the English script) the ship wasn't finished when it launched.

Re: A couple of random finds
And of course it gets shot down immediately after launching, and generally gets bashed around pretty badly throughout the series. It really shouldn't look like a showroom vehicle!

Alright, more random finds:

A young take on an old character,
We're getting a lot of mileage out of this thread.

Continuing in the same vein...
I've been expanding the Star Fleet image folders with some of the extra material from the DVD releases.
This is from the UK DVD's Behind the Scenes images:
Does anyone know what it is?
PS: Hooray to me for 1701 posts
