Terrahawks behind the scenes Model phots designs
The comment from one of the designers that Japanese mecha are "over-engineered crap" is a little funny considering how much influence Gerry Anderson shows have had on Japanese anime over the years...!

What is the Dai-X?
I suspect the Japanese would call it a "Gattai Mecha" (combining mecha). The Japanese are also very good at coming up with acronyms after the fact (General Usage Non-Discontinity Augmented Manoeuvring system for example; I never did find out if that was official but it apparently was devis...

Days Of Our Lives Star Fleet mention.
If you have access to BBCs iPlayer, you may still be able to access the Queen documentary "Days Of Our Lives" - about 15 minutes into the second episode, Brian May talks very briefly about the "Star Fleet Project" with a few seconds of footage from the show.

http://kotaku.com/5946503....1"Theme cafes" like this in Japan pop up from time to time. I recently visited the "Gundam Cafe" in Akihabara (Est. until UC0079"... ), but this one looks amazing!

The Man on the Moon...
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-19381098The very first question I can remember asking my parents was "Who was the first man on the Moon?". It has occasionally been observed by my family that I am a bit of a space cadet. Neil Armstrong was why.
