Terrahawks to Return on Audio

This is what I was reading the other week:http://fanderson.org.uk/gerryan....ainment- Worth a glance, I thought. The Fanderson forums paint a rather bleak picture of the relationship between the fan club and the present management of the Anderson estate.

Terrahawks to Return on Audio

(felice @ May 05 2014,22:17)QUOTEWow! The improved picture quality is nice, but the amount of picture that was cropped off for the SD version is quite remarkable. It's possible that the zoomed in version was the intended framing (eg a closeup on Kate's face rather than a group shot), but the off-centre "Communications Override" SD shot suggests otherwise.I just checked my DVDs, and it really depends on the episodes. Expect the Unexpected's intro scene is fairly framed the same as on that HD screenshot, maybe a little less..

Terrahawks to Return on Audio

Well, the first volume's been announced. And now we know they've found a new actress for Kate Kestrel and that Jeremy Hitchen's voicing Zero. Also, Zelda's taken up loan sharking and the Terrahawks are facing budget cuts.

That's one thing that no Gerry Anderson organisation ever struggled with was resource limitations. The only exception to that was SHADO but UFO was dark and awesome.

Terrahawks to Return on Audio

I was thinking about Terrahawks this afternoon, whilst listening to Pick of the Pops, which was counting down the Top 20 from 30 years ago. (I used to watch Terrahawks then go to listen to the Top 40 afterwards.) Not every track gets played on Pick of the Pops; it was infuriating that the Stranglers' Skin Deep, and UB40's If it Happens Again only got a mention, and some inferior songs got played. It was good to hear Paul Young's I'm Gonna Tear your Playhouse Down, though.

A little out of season now, but have you heard Zelda's Night before Christmas, on SoundCloud? I discovered it via a link on Facebook.
As usual, she's a right nasty piece of work; but it is funny that Stu Dapples wet himself!

I've now heard the first 2 audio stories; brilliant, although it's a shame Kate's singing voice has been given a rest!

The little "jingle" has been removed from the very end of the theme-tune; sad + strange!

How do you get to them? Do you have to sign up for something or how does it work?

I bought my audio set from Ebay (at a reasonable price), and I opted for "Click & Collect" so it was delivered to my local Argos.

According to the "extra" disc, Gerry Anderson was having financial troubles just b4 he collaborated with Christopher Burr on Terrahawks; he was sitting bundled up in lots of coats, because he couldn't pay the heating bill! That's amazing, as he had already made the majority of his programmes by then.

I gathered that they were doing a whole bunch of new audio dramas about Terrahawks and serialising them like podcasts.
I'm sure I read that somewhere.

I take it, it's this that we're talking about?:

I feel very sorry for Gerry Anderson. He was behind the wheel of so many cool things and didn't really get much wealth or happiness out of it, it seemed to me.
It was the divorce and some badly-timed financial decisions that hit him.
