It always seemed to me that Space Sergeant 101 was quite fond of Lt Hiro, his speech certainly had an air of campness about it.

Can you imagine Zero giving his trademark chuckle, upon hearing the rumours about 101?

Link to BBC news story:http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-ox ... 845407When you sat down to watch a Gerry Anderson show, it was a cast iron guarantee that something was going to explode, probably within the next half hour. Farewell, Mr. Anderson, and thank you. Spectrum is... sad.

This is really sad, I always wanted to meet Gerry; he was such a nice chap and a brilliant man.I will miss Gerry, I will never get to fulfill my dream of meeting him. I may have been a fan of his for only a mere 2 years or so now, but it's hit me as if he was a family member.Gerry was younger than my Grandpa and it makes me realize how lucky I am to still have him around.

I wanted to meet him as well - Mission Failed. He was a legend. He didn't even want to work with puppets and look what he and his team managed, despite that.Thunderbirds is some of the best television. It's not something quaint or something that you have fond recollections of because you saw it as a kid. It's simply brilliant.I think it's fair to say that Gerry Anderson (as well as various 80s/90s sci-fi cartoons) manufactured my childhood.I think he was a genius and he came across as a very modest and pleasant one at that.

Gerry once said he thought "it showed" that Terrahawks was done on a low budget. So if they'd had a higher budget, what aspects of the show would be different?
