No news yet? Assuming the stuff went for duplication on schedule (and the real world being what it is, that may or may not be a bit of an if!) anybody know how long, in the broad scheme of things, how long that sort of thing normally takes (barring the production cues and inevitable delays)? I'm curious, as I know nothing of the process, while some of you (well, at least Shane) appear to be more aquainted with the procedure. I'm sort of guessing it's a fair bit more involved than just burning a CD on my computer, but I don't know how much more.(And it gives us something to pass the time while we wait!)

7th December------------------Hi,many thanks for your email registering your interest in the Star Fleet soundtrack CD. I am delighted to inform you that the CD will be released on Monday the 7th December. We are now accepting pre-orders (see details below). The recording has been completely remastered, and while that's a term that's used quite freely, we really mean it! The original source recordings were baked (a process for restoring recordings from original magnetic media) before digital transfer. Once the digital transfer was made, Paul spent a long time creating the stereo mix, correcting any midi timing and pitch issues, additionally replacing and enhancing any elements that were needed. As Paul has detailed in his liner notes, this was quite a labour. Once this was completed, the whole recording was sent to Alberto Parodi for final mixdown and EQ'ing. Alberto is based in Italy, and has a very impressive client list, not only in the music world but cinema, theatre, live recordings and mastering for domestic formats including DVD and Blu-ray. Whilst we knew these treatments would push up the price, the end result was well worth it - it sounds fantastic, headphone listening recommended! The CD comes with a 16 page full colour liner booklet, featuring notes from Paul himself, a short introduction from series producer Louis Elman, and a detailed series overview by author Chris Bentley. The tracks are compiled into episodic suites, in the order they are first heard on screen (see attached jpeg for full track listing).ORDERING:Star Fleet Paul Bliss OST CD £15.90 Postage (UK) £1.00 (for any additional CD's ordered please add 30p per extra disc to your postage) All orders will ship first class, a certificate of posting will be obtained. I believe (having just got the same email) the aforemention Huzzah! does in fact not adequately describe the situation, as it inspires the sort of fervour generally associated with people running around and setting things on fire.
