ok here goes, i have tried everywhere, i have funny quirky things about myself and my partner can track down anything i want on the web. It comes to his birthday and i haven't a clue how to find anything, so im calling out for help. I need to track down some STARFLEET merchandise. I already have the DVD's but would like something extra, such as a badge or a toy from the show. I would be eternally grateful if someone could help me out. thank you in advance

Err, dunno ... - anyone?I would try ebay (great originality there, sorry) they sometimes have Star Fleet stuff there.The Brian May LP of his cover of the the theme tune is very good if you have an LP deck; it's one of my favourite records.I dare say the other regulars'll come up with something good.

Star Fleet toys are not overly common. A number of toys were produced in Japan, but these are now considered "vintage" and can fetch quite high prices - over a hundred pounds for the "middle-of-the-range" items (such as the Takatoku toys "Big Dai-X DX" are not unusual. The show was also not a big hit in Japan, which resulted in rather limited merchandising. Your best bet might be to try looking either for French items - I believe these included the infamous Barry Hercules mask - or Japanese toy-related websites. The F-ZeroOne site (er, no relation!) has some details on merchandise released in the UK:http://www.starfleetxbomber.com/merchandise/It may still be possible to find the annual, puzzles, and even copies of Look-In. Second-hand and charity shops would be worth investigating, as well as conventions like the Memorabilia ones if you have the time/can afford to go.The next bit is getting a Blue Peter, but... you could try making your own Star Fleet merchandise. Or getting someone else to do it. This would probably involve a serious investment of time, talent and money, but as a few suggestions - the most obvious one would be a Star Fleet themed birthday cake. A couple of pictures from the show might help create, say, Shiros face. In chocolate. I daresay theres a few forum members getting hungry already... If you know any talented art students, they might be able to do you a favour. A friend of my brothers gave him for his birthday a portrait of singer Ian Brown; it was only black paint on a white wood frame but was actually pretty cool looking. Metal-works might be another thing to think about.It is possible to buy "blank" Microman action figures (look on the internet for "Microman Material force"); a suitably skilled modeller might be able to create your very own Commander Makara action figure! (again, with enough effort, time, and cash...!). And I've seen some amazing things done with Lego recently...
