Audio Remastering Test

Post by Bladez636 »

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TkUaqbPfciUThe title tells you enough... With the help of the remastered soundtrack I remastered the audio from this scene from episode 3 when Makara destroys the missile base. Succesfully I remastered a scene from its original mono track to stereo. I also have my hands on a lot of the original sound effects, so I reconstructed the sequence of sounds for the most part where possible. The footage is also remastered, as it is from the French DVD

That is very good!Problem with youtube though is that I didn't think those flash videos even did stereo the way they were re-encoded by the site.I think it's a different story if you can access their alternative .mp4 files but I don't remember how you do that off-hand.I wasn't even aware that the French DVDs had the benefit of the Japanese quality video. That I find quite irritating. This data is old but maybe not past its sell-by-date:http://forum.notebookreview.com/off-top ... EDIT:Sorry sorry ... my mistake - looks like we have the mp4 ... right here!http://www.xbomber.co.uk/xarchiv....y_media

EDIT:Sorry sorry ... my mistake - looks like we have the mp4 ... right here!http://www.xbomber.co.uk/xarchiv....y_mediaGlad you liked it mate, I downloaded the mp4 from YouTube. I have the ability as it's my video and it allows a download link under options thankfully.I'll try doing more later, but unfortunately full episodes aren't possible since the Soundtrack is incomplete plus some sound somewhat different from how they do in the series.I will likely try the epic music scene towards the end of "X-Bomber Goes Forth"Also about the French DVD's, the footage is in PAL format so pitches with the English Audio perfectly unlike the Japanese footage which is in NTSC format so the pitch is lower and 4 frames slower!

Yes, I imagined that was how you'd obtained the mp4. You can play any youtube video in that format by adding one of the querystrings mentioned in that post to the end of the video's URL.There was a time where YT linked to them anyway but was maybe costing them too much bandwidth.

Very well done with that Audio Remastering.I was very impressed, and the video quality is better as well as you say.I wonder why we didn't get to benefit from the superior video quality with the original series, but the French did?I've also noticed how some of the music clips sound different on the actual show to the Paul Bliss Remastered Audio Soundtrack. It would be nice to be able to get hold of all the variations in a remastered format.Even the Japanese Audio Soundtrack doesn't have all the music from the actual series. I guess they must have to rationalise and compromise for the sake of commercial pressures?
