On Saturday, Discotek is having a panel at Otakon where they're going to announce new titles and info on remaining titles. Hopefully a release date for "Star Fleet".

Thanks for keeping an eye on that, I'll be ordering it for my birthday.

My hopes are that this time, we'll get stereo English-language audio and picture quality at least as good as the 2004 Japan DVD, if not the French one.

http://www.rightstufanime.com/Star-Fleet-DVD

It's available for pre-order from Rightstuf Anime for $32.48 (or £26.56)
I pre-ordered it from there. Also on Amazon, but for $49.95.

All it includes is the English dub according to the specs. A bit disappointing, yet not surprising. There's problems that come with syncing it to the English dub (and vice versa) due to the frame-rate and edits. Still hope the quality is an improvement compared to the UK DVD.

Given this is Discotek Media, there's a possibility that they might release the Japanese version separately, which is what they did for "Samurai Pizza Cats" and "Monster Rancher".

I don't know why they would release new DVDs after the roughly 2010 release of the US DVDs, unless they had something new to show us in the form of improved audio or video quality.

We'll have to wait and see the screenshots.

What 2010 DVD's? We never got a release of "Star Fleet" here.

You could say the same about Japan and its "remaster" set, but the only real remastering was limited to the intro.

Oh, yeah, that's bizarre.
I assumed that, since it was released in the UK, France, Japan, Australia apparently, it was released in the US not long after here.

Apparently it's been delayed till February now, according to their Facebook.

Perhaps not all that surprising, I half-expected it. This is pretty much what happened to the UK release back in 09' too.

It'll get released in the end. This Discotek looks like a busy company with lots of titles and releases being churned out.
They'll not just drop the project but delays are irritating.

I know, I've said this before but I'm really interested to see what the picture quality of these will be.
