MUSIC FROM SF

Post by OBERHEIM »

Hi everyone!I'm Glenn, and I loved STAR FLEET when it first broadcast back in '83. I loved the incidental music , and at the moment I am trying to re-create some of the tracks. I wrote an email to Paul Bliss , and he replied. Here it is:Hi Glenn,Thanks for your message, and for your interest in Star Fleet and my work.Unfortunately it was so long ago that I really don't remember what synths Iused! I tend to update my studio every couple of years, but I do remember havinga Roland Juno 106 at that time, and possibly an Oberheim OBXa.Sorry I can't be of more help, but good luck with your music.Best regards,Paul Bliss .So there you go. I have recently got a 6 voice OBXa from the US. I now need a polyphonic sequencer with MIDI, as the Obxa has Midi IN and Out. I have already been able to accurately reproduce the music to the beggining of the 'FG' operation!!!I will try and keep you posted.....

Good to hear you getting a response from Paul. I was always pretty certain he used a Juno on much of the Star Fleet soundtrack. I own a Juno and it does have quite an unmistakable sound. Cool to know he had an OBX as well, thats a phat synth!

It's actualy an Alpha Juno. Not quite as raw as a 106, but still has that Juno sound, and it always stays in tune.
