Terrahawk Convention

Post by Mark42 »

Has everyone spotted that there is a Terrahawks convention in October? They don't come along very often, well so far never actually, so if you miss this one there might not be another! It's a one-day event, guests include the special effects director, model makers, and puppeteers. Theres a model/prop display and screening of some episodes that have been specially remastered.I'll be going.Details here -   http://fanderson.org.uk/expecttheunexpected/

This sounds good but is a long way to travel.I'll have to think about it.Interesting that some of the episodes have been remastered.

I've been pondering that; it would be a chance to wear my Kate Kestrel wig again. I'd be more certain to go if:The voice cast were guaranteed to be there/There was an '80s disco planned for the evening/The journey involved just 1 train to get there, instead of 2.

http://www.andercon.co.uk/zelda-d....earanceSounds like Zelda/Commander Makara herself will be there. Wish I could be there.Perhaps someone could ask her about her role as Makara, because I don't think anyone ever has...

What was the convention like, Mark? Which episodes did they show?

It was a fun day Rachel, only about 80-90 people there so with about a dozen guests to chat too it was a very friendly atmosphere. It started with the first two episodes in standard presentation and then later had Ma's Monsters and Two for the Price of One in HD, which looked very nice.Theres a report here - http://fanderson.org.uk/gerryan....y-eventI got talking to one of the guests and found that he has a load of photos that he took himself while at the studios, so hopefully I'll be getting copies off him for my website. My latest Terrahawks update is about Zelda's spaceships  -http://www.davidsissonmodels.co.uk/Zeld ... 0Ships.htm

That's a great write-up. I'm sorry I couldn't make it.Do you reckon that they'll move towards an HD release of the series; either on disc or online? Those images of the Zelda ships are brilliant. It's interesting how they're all different and yet uniform ... streamlined yet ugly.

I take it from that write-up that Denise Bryer didn't attend?

No she didn't, there were no voice artists there, but I think that she will be at Andercon next year.As for the HD, that was done by Fanderson on couple of film prints the club owns. There seems to be some sort of confusion about where all the other prints are, as the current DVDs had to apparantly be created from video tapes!

At Anderson conventions, does an attendee get the opportunity to have an Andersonesque puppet-version of him/herself made? Just an idea.
