I know there have been a few books written about Gerry, but has he ever written his own autobiography? If not, is he likely to in the foreseeable future? It would be good if he had a booksigning session in Borders; that would be a chance for my best friend and myself to meet him, and tell him that I like Yungstar and she likes Captain Scarlett.

Well are there no Anderson... conventions or functions that he goes to? He seems to be quite a private and quiet guy. But you would have thought Fanderson would do things like that. How awesome would it be to meet the man himself? It would be amazing if he did an interview based actual questions provided by the fans, on the BBC or whatever. Usually the interviews are so superficial. There was one on BBC breakfast TV. It was embarrassing on the part of the BBC when it should have been brilliant.

Gerry Anderson did (co)write his autobiography about 10 years ago, and a revised version was published a few years after that. It's not bad, covering his whole career up to Space Precinct.I interviewed Gerry last year for our Andersonic fanzine and managed to put several more unusual questions to him - the issue is still available from the andersonic.co.uk website. Gerry was very accommodating, still enthusiastic about his work and generally a very friendly chap.

If (going from your website) this magazine is strictly non-profit but the printers sap-up all the funds received... why not publish it online for ~free and let everyone read it?

(Crash Override @ Jan. 26 2009,13:40)QUOTEIf (going from your website) this magazine is strictly non-profit but the printers sap-up all the funds received... why not publish it online for ~free and let everyone read it?Good question - not sure I've got a good answer for it. I suppose initially we all set out to produce a magazine rather than a website. I prefer having a CD or magazine to downloading an mp3 or a pdf - probably showing my age by admitting that! We wanted to produce something more tangible and less ephemeral that people could refer back to, read again, for example like we did with old Dr Who fanzines. As you'll see from the site, the price of the fanzine is kept low, as long as our costs are covered that's OK. If the printers don't get it, paypal and the post office mop up the rest. btw, the next issue has a feature on Star Fleet!

No, I totally understand where you're coming from.I think I might well invest in a copy. Printing costs these days are astronomical. I mean one friend of mine had to print some enormous research-poster for her masters and Durham University's large printers were all unavailable around the deadline so she had to pay £40 to have the thing printed outside the Uni and there was no provision by the University to contribute, say, £20 towards that cost.

Gerrys done numerous public talks over the years with questions taken from the audience. He did several the other year in London and Bradford to tie in with a book release about ITC. I think he will be in London doing signings soon for the release of the new TV21 reprint books.

Does anyone know of an address (preferably e-mail, or the good old-fashioned Royal Mail) to which one could pen a few lines to Gerry? I don't know if anyone here has already written to him?

I guess that you could always try the fan club, Fanderson, at query@fanderson.org.ukask them if they can forward on Royal mail or give an address to post too.Gerry himself will be in london doing a talk again for the Fireball screening see - http://www.networkdvd.net/
