Apparantly they were very close to doing more series at the time but the funding broke down - great pity, considering how much many 'true' Anderson fans dislike the show it would have been fun if it had gone to 52 episodes and turned into his longest production! There was also talk of a spin-off show about Stew Dapples, which is why they did the episode with him and his Mum.
