So I gave this new show a watch, and I guess you're all going to hate me or something, but I didn't get very far. I just couldn't get on with the lack of real puppetry. Maybe I'm just too old? I found myself yearning for the original. Sorry guys :?

The first double-parter of episodes was great and I hoped that the remainder of the show would be as brilliant but they aren't.

I think it partly has to do with the fact that there's no build-up and no dramatic tension given that the episodes are too short for them to build up any; 20 mins, rather than 50.

You can see it in how the vehicles move. In real Thunderbirds, the pod vehicles are slow and mighty; filmed at 100+ frames/second and played back in slow motion to show the mole and firefly and elevator cars lumbering down the pod ramp to go and rescue the s*** outta someone.

In the new one, the little pod buggies zip around like scalextric cars. You blink and you miss them.
Dream big and bold and daring.
