Lego Ideas - X-Bomber!!!

Post by AndyThomas »

Hello one and all. Not exactly Genesis, but it's mine, so...! I've just about managed to keep myself from spilling the beans on this, but as I have now finally got this thing off the ground (!) I need your support. Lots and lots and lots of support. In fact we need 10,000 people to make this even a possibility as an actual Lego set. So, please, go and have a look at this. See what you think. The rules on videos and so on associated with it are going to make it difficult to show it "in action", but if you want me to try and show you some more of it please let me know. Feedback would of course be welcome too!

I voted for it.
There are a lot of brick types and colours that we didn't have last century.

What rules are there against videos etc?

Andy, could you let me have some more of those images in a good size like the one above, for the site?
Send me an email if that's easiest.

Will do. Did you see the update? Hilariously I mis-positioned the lower intakes when I tried to do something else, it only hit me a couple of days after I'd posted it. I'll post the original images up here this week if you want to see them all. As you say, the curved bricks in particular were never around when I was using Lego, nor were missile launchers for that matter! You could get pretty close to this using old school bricks, but I don't think the double height straight slopes were available then. The early versions, before I discovered you could actually order bricks quite easily, are rather, ah, brighter!

The videos thing I have asked for some clarity on. There's basically some guidance that says you shouldn't have bits of you in the shot. For me, trying to film it in an interesting way without me actually flying it is very difficult. In fact, I could show it off quite nicely doing that, but as it is I'm a little limited until I get some confirmation of what I can and can't do.

Thanks for supporting, a lot of these things don't get overly far but if it doesn't I'll try and work up the instructions so people could have a go at it themselves.

OK, here we go, these are the originals. Tried to put them in a directory on the site but for some reason I can't drill into it. Maybe I turned off directory listings. *shrug* Hm. Even the attachments look like they display to me, thought I was only showing one! Apologies for the clutter!

Well it's scraped over the halfway mark to more time, but I suspect it's just a bit too obscure for its own good at this point. Does anyone know of any active Japanese boards where it might be of interest? I'm rather scratching my head at this point, so I may just leave it to run its course for now...

This is the only forum I do anything with, I'm afraid.
Most, if-not-all others that I've visited have been unfriendly places.

I frequented planetdescent a good while ago and it was full of nice and talented people but the forum admin was a total crackpot.
I have nothing against Republicans, but this particular one ranted constantly about how his taxes shouldn't be used to benefit anyone but himself and especially not anyone less fortunate.

So, I realised that I wasn't in the right place and I haven't been back.
A nice thing about the internet is that you can choose very easy which group (if any) to be part of.

But hey, I saw this in my email from Lego today:

If I'm honest, I'm not sure it looks quite as good as yours.
