Re: Star Fleet Upscaled

I can absolutely imagine that it would've taken an awful lot of work. I know from BladeZ, who has done a lot of work on remastering Star Fleet, what the complications are, just in syncing up the video from the French DVDs with the audio from an English-language release, which, I gather is what's bee...

Re: Star Fleet Upscaled

Hi dym2005! Thanks for trying again to register! The problem was that we had to demand email verification due to huge volumes of spam sign-ups. But there was a problem with the forum's mailserver config, which seems to have deterred a lot of sign-ups around that time. I have a copy of the upscaled v...

Re: Video from the Expo

That's interesting info about the software available for use on this. When you have imperfections in the individual frames, it matters a lot less when 24 go by every second. Discotek had some interesting ideas with their blu-ray release, but putting on the whole series in Japanese, with subtitles, i...

Re: Video from the Expo

Well, this is the thing. I think they had some big prints of that at the Expo, as well as the original. The Earth HQ and many others are brilliant as well but the moonbase one is especially magical. Photoshop now has a kind of pseudo-AI enlargement option for resizing an image overall, called 'prese...

Re: Video from the Expo

I did try using tineye and google image search to see if I could find a bigger one. The 720p upscale of the show that Gary Cass shared with me is very sharp on a big screen. I wonder if the best way is to get a screengrab from the French DVD version of the show, (which has the best visual quality) a...

Re: Video from the Expo

The Pluto fighter is a real interesting design. It has an odd, flying saucer vibe and a conventional aircraft vibe all together in one design, and yet, it looks nice. The expo makes me think how much stuff was made for the show but was discarded afterwards. There were 4 types of EDF fighters and pat...

Re: Star Fleet is 40 today!

Great post, Btw, we're running a Star Fleet Skype: either end of this month or next - keep an eye out on the forum, would be awesome to chat about the show, I'm watching the show again now in the upscaled version, and I never noticed that Lee has an ice cream with him when he's sitting in the snowmo...

Re: Star Fleet episode subtitles

The US blu-ray that came out the other year has the Japanese version of the show, complete with subtitles, which didn't appear to be baked into the image. It even includes the "preview show" pilot, complete with subtitles, since it was never dubbed. The subtitles looked (to me at least) li...

Re: Star Fleet episode subtitles

Ah, good shooting. I haven't got any SRT files or subtitle files on the site, which seems odd that it's not come up before ... I figure this might be the best way to get them from the DVD: see step 4, which involves Handbrake, which I use for various things and is open-source, free and works on both...
