Re: Audio Remastering

I ordered Vols. 3, 4 & 8 and they all arrived today. Vol. 4 was new in packaging so that one should come out well (incidentally it's the one I need to sample the least off of). Vols. 3 & 8 were used former rentals off Amazon but in good outward appearance (the worst that can be said is that ...

Re: Audio Remastering

Ah, I misunderstood. I didn't really watch the US DVDs because the quality was a big disappointment. I haven't still got the VCDs and even if I had VHS, I'd need a capture card and VCR to pull the audio and I haven't got either. I guess I'll bite that bullet and track down the tapes on eBay (they p...

Better that than using a recording from a VHS or VCD-made-from-a-VHS, I would think.
They're the same audio as the UK DVDs - and thus have the same glitches, as I mentioned. I only need access to the VHS audio to fix those problems.

Re: Audio Remastering

I've been thinking of redoing these with the audio from Discotek's US release (since it contains no cuts from the commercial eyecatch unlike the UK DVD which somewhat clumsily removed them). When I did these back in 2012, I didn't have the best knowledge and just used a lot of lowpass filter to make...

Re: Episode 2 translation

I take it that the video used for the Skaro release was from the 2004 Japanese DVDs? Yes, that's correct, likewise for these episodes. That said, I would love to get a copy of transfers from rjkibbee's 16mm collection to try as an alternate video source for the subtitles. Well, there are the French...

Re: Episode 2 translation

I was wondering if it would be all right for me to use this script to make a fan subtitled version of episode 2? I subtitled episode 1 in 2015: https://skarohuntingsociety.wordpress.com/2015/11/15/x-bomber-1980-episode-01/ I have no objections. I had a friend of a friend do the translation for this...

Do you need any sort of help with this, like as in financially? Because if you started up some sort of donation pool, I'd gladly give something toward this restoration.

Boy, do I desperately wish I could read Kanji. These are awesome, I didn't even know there was more than the first two you uploaded before.

It's great to see some BTS shots and concept art we've never previously seen.

Re: Japanese Version 16mm Reels

I'm very interested to see what the quality looks like compared to the DVDs. I see that, according to this site (does this belong to anyone here by the way?): http://supermarionationworld.webs.com/merchandise.htm The 2002 Japanese DVDs are created from the laserdiscs so they might be quite good. Th...
