Re: Babylon 5 on Blu Ray

You're totally right. I would've preferred to have seen the CGI re-done. I'd come across Tom's work a good while back but it seems to have come a long way since then, and it was already very impressive. I suppose the problem is paying a CGI studio to have your own copyrighted version of the new exte...

Re: Babylon 5 on Blu Ray

I heard that the picture quality of this bluray is good - as good as it can get without them re-rendering the CGI with models that they no longer even have. The zip disks and floppy disks that had the models for the Omega destroyer and others were lost in the chaos of Foundation Imaging. Apparently,...

Re: Big Dai-X Model Kit

It looks really good.
The only reason that I haven't ordered one for myself and photographed it for the site is that I'm biding my time and waiting until I have more time available to do a half-way proper job of building it.

Re: Forum Downtime

Well, this is good: better than I expected. I got the invoice for our hosting renewal and, I'm only being invoiced for what they're calling "Ruby legacy", which means that we can keep all the functionality of the old Ruby plan, before it was significantly shaved down, and I don't have to p...

Re: Star Fleet episode subtitles

Well, I like to think of myself as a facilitator. Oh yes, I was surprised to learn that a little while ago from Ben's substack: https://starfleetxbomber.substack.com/p/an-attack-beyond-tears-part-one I had assumed that the French and UK versions were the same other than the dubbing, music and ...

Re: Star Fleet episode subtitles

Well, I would say something like "strong first post", but that seems a bit weak in this case! Thanks very much for this, Megaupload let me download that very swiftly last night and the subs work great in media player classic. I got quite a way into episode 1 just now before my daughter dec...

Re: Merry Festivities and Fixes!

Hi Andy! Great to hear from you, Merry, wonderful and joyous Christmas to you and all fleeters and everyone, I hope 2024 is good for everyone. I thought that something had been changed on SFXB (I think I might have tried it yesterday). I wondered whether to email you to tell you that the problem see...

Re: Forum Downtime

It's been a while since the thread was updated but I wanted to let people know about changes with our host that are taking place, without discussing it on the site's front page... The sites on Krystal's physical webservers are being migrated across to their public cloud infrastructure: Katapult, whi...

Re: New US Release w/ Japanese version

Hi Jack!
I was pleased with the SD blu-ray for that same reason.

If you haven't seen it, check out dym005's AI-upscaled version of the English-language release.
It looks really good and it gave me a new appreciation for the series:
