Another step closer...
(AndyThomas @ Feb. 04 2014,11:31)QUOTEI'm just conscious of how he's going to react when Dr Benn bites the dust!Probably like rest of us with sobs, Kleenex and emotional scars! Tbf, just one of the many reasons why kids had it better back then, before the PC brigade had their way. We weren't all tr...

Gatchman goes live action
Not the live-action movie, but I recently imported the US blu ray set of the original series. It's never looked so good. Well worth the investment if you're a fan and have a multi-region player.

MCOG - new series/live action film?
The new series was released on blu ray this week. Sadly I'm working away from home so won't get the chance to see it until the weekend. Really looking forward to it - hard to believe that there's a second season after soooooo long.

Roll call of missing members
I don't "do" anything, but I love popping in here every now and then to see what's going on and I'm constantly amazed that there are still various efforts going on. Serious respect to everyone.I tend to drop by whenever I'm reminded to by watching the DVDs - currently rewatching for the fi...

The Future of SFXB
Very sad to hear your news Andy. I remember in the dark days it was almost impossible to find anything Star Fleet related until I found this and a few related sites. Having not seen or heard anything of the show for the better part of two decades I can't really tell you what a joy it was to see clip...

^^ Probably a couple of factors on the remastering point. Firstly, you say remastering these days and it evokes an impression that the picture will be pristine, almost like you've taken an old VHS copy and knocked out something in HD. More often than not with something this old, that's just not goin...

Go Nagai actually references the show as both Star Fleet and X-Bomber at certain points in the interview. Personally, I'd lay the blame for that at the feet of the people conducting the interview. Chances are that it was them that were getting things mixed up and he was just too polite to say anythi...

^^ I wasn't too bothered about the Gerry Anderson stuff. The best bits of the interviews for me were the Louis Elman and Peter Marinker bits, although to be fair, Go Nagai's stuff was interesting. I'd imagine a lot's lost in translation. The Paul Bliss bit sounded scripted but again, was informative...

Star Fleet UK DVD Unboxing Photos
Fabulous Films deserve a lot of credit with this release. I bought the Mysterious Cities of Gold box set that they released last year. That too is absolutely fantastic with about the same kind of extra material. Considering that we've seen releases of things like Ulysses and Dungeons and Dragons whi...

UK DVD release
^^ Spot on. That pretty much mirrors my impression as well. Got to say though, either way, the DVD contains the best version of the episodes in terms of them being unedited and the visual and audio quality. They're much better than the US VHS or ebay VCD versions. They're not perfect by any stretch o...
