Mine's been shipped, but it's today's date. It's on special delivery so whether that means it'll turn up today or tomorrow who knows. All's I know, I'll be phoning home every hour to see if it's arrived!

^^ I run a website on the invision boards. I won't bore/spam people with the address as it's not relevant, but needless to say, spamming is an issue. We have the 'validation' confirmation of membership as well, and you can guarantee every day you'll have at least 10 new requests, which more often th...

Help shape the Star Fleet DVD

^^ They'll be lucky. My HMV didn't have any on the shelves. They only had a few and all those went to people who'd pre-ordered. Should have done that myself, but when they released The Mysterious Cities of Gold they had a load on the shelves, hence I didn't think I needed to.Anyhow, can't wait, not ...

^^ Absolutely. Bomber X just doesn't do it for me. The music is vastly different, and the VA is typically Japanese, which in itself isn't a problem, but when you compare it against the English dub, IMO, it's inferior.Gatchaman, certainly puts Zoltar in a new light! Not to mention Keyop, he wasn't a ...

UK DVD release

I based my decision not to order online from HMV's release of MCOG. They had piles of them on day of release. I thought Star Fleet would be the same. Obviously not. Oh well. Just ordered online with Royal Mail special delivery. Should be here tomorrow. I bought the Close Encounters of the Third Kind...

UK DVD release

(Shane @ Feb. 09 2009,10:57)QUOTEI was talking purely about what was available to the UK prior to 1982 in the way of Japanese style programing which showcased mecha.I remember seeing Voltron toys in the shops in maybe 83 or 84 but can't ever remember seeing the show on UK terrestrial TV.The fact th...

UK DVD release

^^ It's official, HMV are useless.Went to pick up a copy at lunchtime. Apparently they only had a few copies, which were accounted for already for pre-orders.Surely the fact that you literally had none left to put on the shelves is a fairly good indication that you might want to have increased your ...

UK DVD release

(Shane @ Feb. 01 2009,13:53)QUOTEStar Fleet did bring to the forefront Japan's superiority when it comes to Giant combining robots, or mecha, and that was certainly new and fresh in the UK in 1982, There was only really BOTP that was in the same ball park, but that was animation.Voltron is probably...

UK DVD release

(AndyThomas @ Feb. 01 2009,21:29)QUOTEYou have to remember - the original film is over 20 years old and it was filmed for television, not cinema.  So no, it isn't Star Wars remastered quality - that would have cost an incredible amount (both in time and budget) for 8 hours of footage and you have t...
