Re: Japanese poster?

It was months and months of watching and waiting. I have no idea if you can get Rinkya to "find" things for you.
Also, it wasn't cheap, as I recall there was a fierce bidding war over it.

Re: Japanese poster?

Yeah Rinkya is good, not cheap, but good.
They pack items up extremely well.
We bought the X-Bomber Encyclopedia from there.

Re: Adventures in Scanning...

Ah, I see them now, thanks. Interesting that some of the images are photos, and others look like photos that have been painted over.
Nice find!

Re: Thunderbirds Are Go - Low Cost!

Hmm, female characters in predominantly boys toy lines have been historically lacking since I was little, but there were some if you looked hard. Re: Die cast Dai x query

I have that figures set too. I had vague plans to make moulds from them and cast some figures in resin or whitemetal and paint them.
Always wanted a detailed set of Star Fleet figures.

Re: Japanese poster?

Wow! Great finds!
I particularly like the sketch book, just because I want to see the other images inside it.

Re: Japanese Pilot

The interview on the UK DVDs goes into this topic a little bit - about how they developed the script. I think they received a draft script from Japan, translated into English, which was either badly translated or very un-engaging and they basically tore it up and wrote their own that was based on t...

Re: Japanese Pilot

Yes, this is exactly the point I was trying to make. Was the translation like-for-like? Maybe the English version is better, more expressive and engaging, or maybe it's instead lost something of the original Japanese version's meanings and nuances. Alas I cannot tell. Hence I find I can enjoy both v...
